The art collective Union of the Impossible emerged in 2020 — during the pandemic era. Its composition shifts and gradually expands. The group’s main artistic strategy is the appropriation and translation of visual images found online or glimpsed in daily life. Their photorealism is what the members themselves call a new Peredvizhniki [The Wanderers’ movement]: a simulation of the camera’s gaze, accidental and fleeting, yet capturing incomparably more than the observer’s eye could ever grasp.
